While we do assembly ourselves, we've always sourced our capsule backplates from the same place as many other brands, which is the only one in the market that knows how to do backplates and has lapping machine, and quality control there was pretty uneven. They had bad IP protection and leaked some other friends' products onto taobao, so I've been looking to dump them for a while. We're moving capsule backplate production to a smaller machine shop owned by a good friend of mine. I've spent the last three months or so walking him through how it's done, and we're ready to transition over now.
This left us with a pile of existing factory-produced backplates. The rejects we auctioned off somewhere to recoup the costs. From the good remaining factory backplates, we built a batch of single-sided K87 capsules. We now want to clear them out at a discount before relaunching our main product lineup using in-house backplates.
If you're looking for a K87 capsule and want to save some cash, grab one (or more) now. Once they're gone, they're gone for good—we'll be manufacturing exclusively with in-house metal from now on, likely at a slightly to moderately higher price point.
Thanks for helping us make room for better things ahead—we genuinely appreciate your support
